It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a competition grab the attention of so many people quite like this ITV competition has done, since it launched on GMB back in May 2020. It’s grown into something that you even hear people talking about when you’re out and about, laughing about the surprise in a winner’s voice, or why so many people fail to answer the phone.
Free Cash Friday runs on Good Morning Britain between 8.15am and 9.00am on Fridays when the competition is run, and between 9.30am and 10.00am on Lorraine Kelly’s show.
Initially, the competition only featured on GMB with a £3,000 prize, but later the prize pot grew to £4,000, split equally between Good Morning Britain and Lorraine, each creating a £2,000 winner.
Does The Competition Run Every Week?
The competition doesn’t run all year round, instead appearing for several weeks in a row. During 2022, Free Cash Friday returned for five of the six weeks when kids are off school during the school holidays. The week off was probably down to the fact that Andi Peters was presenting This Morning for a week while Phil and Holly were off for the summer.
What Time Can I Enter?
Entries tend to open for the prize draws on a Friday evening before the competition runs on a Friday morning. Typically means you can enter anytime from around 5pm on a Wednesday evening, up until the competition closes for entries before the winner is selected.
What Time Does Free Cash Friday Close?
Entries close for Good Morning Britain at 7.45am, ahead of the winner selection to make the call later in the programme. For Lorraine’s edition, the entry form closes at 9.10am.
How Long Does It Take To Enter?

In brief, you just need to head over to the ITV Win website, select the Free Cash Friday competition and press the Enter Now button. Just type your name and county, tick the required boxes and submit your entry.
Can I Enter By Phone?
You can use your smartphone to enter each Free Cash Friday competition, but not by making a phone call. You’ll need to use your phone’s browser, for example Safari on an iPhone.
Head to itv.com/win and the process is the same for getting your free entry as it is using a computer.
There’s no way to enter the competition using a landline, unlike the ITV paid competitions – but we’d recommend that you enter those by post as that’s much cheaper to do. We’ve got information on those on our ITV Win page.
